LittleLocomotives

LISTED 10-JULY-2008 - This excellent 7 1/4" Tinkerbell is offered for sale due to her owner having very little opportunity to steam her in the last couple of years. She is in perfect working order with a current valid steam certificate.

Tinkerbell is a 2-4-2 and was started in 1972 and finished in 1990. Her steel boiler was initially hydraulically tested in 1988. The boiler is fully certified. This Tinkerbell is belived to have been originally started by Roger Marsh (who originally designed this class of loco).

Here are some of Tinkerbells finer points:
Firebox is the loco type (not the marine boiler type).
A Southworth Engines vertical steam driven boiler feed pump (professionally made).
Two lubricators, one for the pistons and one for the steam pump.
Two injectors with pressure indicators.
Two forms of braking, positive pressure air pump and vacuum pump.
Removeable cab with replacement spectacle plate.
Cab operated electric lights.
Twin balanced water tanks.
Two whistles, one 3 chime and one single chime.
Fully braked road trailer that is able to unload to ground level.
Elevated storage stand on castors allowing access to underside of loco.

Height - 1.3 metres
Length - 2.3 metres
Width - 0.7 meters

UPDATE 18/08/08 - The ten year full boiler strip down was carried out in April 2006. The inside of the boiler was inspected with a camera and no evidence of corrosion was found. The loco has only seen light use during its time with the current owners and is considered to be in first class order.
