Here is very nice traction engine that requires completion. Made by the same builder as 'Exmoor Pony', the 7 1/4" Bridget that I restored a year or two back, this engine has been hardly used in the last twenty years. After the builder passed away it slumbered for many years in his daughters garage. The family had the boiler tested about 6 years ago with a view to selling the engine but it crept back under the covers at the back of the garage and fell asleep again.
About two years ago a keen member of the local club (who is a very busy man) bought the engine with a view to returning it to full working order. Time has not allowed this to happen and I have now been asked to find a good home for this traction engine on his behalf.
When the current owner bought the engine he hydraulically tested the boiler to 150psi without a problem and has only steam the engine once or twice since. The owner will be very happy to steam the engine for a potential buyer but it doesnt come with a certificate as the engine currently has only one means of getting water into the boiler, when in steam, via an eccentric pump. A hand pump and fittings were purchased to overcome the problem but these have yet to be fitted. These can be seen in one of the photos and are included in the sale.
As with 'Exmoor Pony' the build quality is very good and although the paintwork is a little tired this will make a lovely model when completed. A quick look at the pictures for 'Exmoor Pony' will show the transformation a repaint made to the builders other model.
