We have for sale two complete cylinder sets for LBSCs 'Lion' from the Liverpool and Manchester Railway (although I suspect the loco is more famous to most as the 'Titfield Thunderbolt').
These were made by the gentleman who built the Jessie's that we have been selling recently. He originally intended to build a small batch of three 'Lions' but he found so many errors in the drawings and made so many amendments and alterations along the way that only one loco progressed beyond the first stage (i.e. the cylinders).
The details and dimensions are as follows. The cylinder block is made from meehanite cast iron (which is a hard wearing, close grained, quality controlled material). The bore is 1 1/4" and the stroke is 1 5/8" with the valve travel being 7/16". The overall dimensions are 4 1/8" across, 2 11/16" high and 2 1/2" deep with a between centre measurement for the cylinders of 2 1/2". Graphite yarn seals the cylinders inside the bores with O rings being used for the remaining seals.
