This is a nice narrow gauge coal truck. The body is light and made from ply wood. The bogies are very nicely made. The crossbeams are sprung and each wheel has a moving brake shoe. These are not linked and are purely decorative. The bogies are not strong enough to be used a ride on truck and need minor attention to re attach to the body.
I originally bought this wagon a few years ago. The plan was to use the bogies to make a 3 1/2" Lynton and Barnstaple Howards Bogie Goods Van. The design is very similar although scale wise these are a little on the small side. As with a lot of projects they tend to get overtaken by bigger things and this one was no exception.
One of the doors is missing and in general the model needs tidying. The other pair of doors open with a working catch. The underfames are matt black and the body is grey with light weathering here and there. All in all a great little wagon that just needs a bit of tlc.
